The news that PIF has today sold a majority stake in Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal is unconnected to its investment in Newcastle.

They also won their first domestic trophy in 70 years last season.

Caicedo close to signing new long-term Chelsea deal

Latest from Your Site News' Kaveh Solhekol:

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo is close to signing a new contract with improved terms that will run until at least 2033. The new contract has been agreed and is set to be signed imminently.

The Ecuador international is set to be handed a pay rise as a reward for his impact and performances since he moved to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea signed Caicedo almost three years ago from Brighton in 115m deal.

The now 24-year-old signed an eight-year contract at the time with the option to extend it by a further year.

Caicedos extension has been agreed just a month after captain Reece James also signed a new contract until 2032.

The news will be a boost for Chelsea during a difficult spell when the team has been struggling on the pitch and Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella have been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

'Senesi's most likely destination revealed'

Liverpool are leading the race to sign soon-to-be free agent defender Marcos Senesi when he leaves Bournemouth, according to the i Paper.

The 28-year-old Argentina international's contract runs out at the end of June and speculation is growing that he will choose to remain in the Premier League.

Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked, but Liverpool is his most likely destination, this report claims.

Last season's Premier League champions are short on central defenders after a Deadline Day move for Marc Guehi collapsed last summer.

Captain Virgil van Dijk, 34, has endured his toughest season at Anfield, while his centre-back partner Ibrahima Konate's form has nosedived as speculation around his future swirls.

Liverpool remain committed to agreeing terms on a new deal for Konate, who is also out of contract in the summer, but there has been no resolution over his future.

Joe Gomez, the most trusted back-up to Liverpool's starting centre-backs, has shared his time playing at right-back and in the heart of defence with injuries interrupting his season.

Gomez has one more year left on his contract after the summer and Liverpool face making a decision over his future too.

'Gordon keen to explore options to leave Newcastle'

Anthony Gordon is keen to explore his options to leave Newcastle United this summer, according to The Telegraph.

The England winger has emerged as a top target for Bayern Munich, while Arsenal are also interested in Gordon.

Newcastle lost star striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool last summer, and this report claims there is a feeling inside the club that Gordon will seek to follow him out the exit door.

The Telegraph reports Gordon is keen to sort his future before the World Cup and Newcastle are braced for bids to arrive early in the summer but have not been told he wants to leave.

Gordon has four years left on his Newcastle contract and this report claims it would take more than 80m for the Magpies to consider a sale.

The 25-year-old has scored 17 goals and provided five assists in 46 appearances this season.

Could Salah miss out on huge Saudi payday?

Saudi Arabia is preparing to scale back its investment in the transfer market - which could have repercussions for Mohamed Salah, says Your Site News chief reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

There are reports Saudi Arabia is preparing to withdraw funding for LIV Golf as part of a reassessment of their investments amid the conflicts in the Middle East.

Salah - who is leaving Liverpool at the end of the season - has long been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but any transfer may not be as lucrative as it could have been for the forward.

"There have already been some changes to the way they invest in football," said Solhekol. "When they first put money into the Saudi Pro League, there was a massive splurge on players. Cristiano Ronaldo is there earning astronomical sums of money.

"There has been a pull back and there will continue to be a pull back. What does that mean for somebody like Mohamed Salah?

"There's still a big appetite from the Saudi Pro League to sign Salah this summer - but perhaps he wouldn't be earning as much as if he had moved to Saudi a few years ago.

"There's a war going on in the Middle East and economies all around the world have been affected, especially those in the Gulf.

"Saudi Arabia is saying: 'We're going to continue investing in sport but we're going to be very sensible'."
