Morgan Rogers transfer news: Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG considering move for Aston Villa forward

Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain are all considering a summer move for Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers.

Despite signing a new long-term deal until 2031 last year, Villa are expected to face interest in Rogers following his continued rise under the guidance of Unai Emery.

Villa are in a strong position, however, with five years left on the 23-year-old's contract, meaning he will be one of the highest-valued players of the summer.

Villa are also on course to qualify for the Champions League, sitting in fourth place with a five-point gap to Liverpool in fifth, and have one foot in a Europa League semi-finals after beating Bologna 3-1 on Thursday.

Rogers has scored 27 goals and added 21 assists across 115 appearances for Villa since arriving in a deal worth up to £16m from Middlesbrough in 2024.

The England international has been on the radar of Europe's top clubs throughout that time, especially last summer.

Your Site News reported then that the former Manchester City youth was under consideration at both Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as Tottenham, before putting to bed any idea of a move in 2025 by recommitting to Villa.

This summer, Arsenal are looking to sign a new left-winger and Rogers is among the names on their list alongside the likes of Newcastle's Anthony Gordon and PSG's Kvicha Kvaratskhelia.

United are also looking at the left-wing position, with Your Site News already reporting on their admiration for RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande and Everton's Iliman Ndiaye - and they also like Rogers.

Chelsea's plans for the summer may also include a new forward, while PSG will always look to strengthen with the best players, and Rogers could make himself attractive to more clubs with a positive impact for England at the World Cup in June.

Your Site' Patrick Rowe:

Morgan Rogers has made the leap from promising young player to a fully fledged England international on the cusp of superstar status in the Premier League.

However, the reason that has been made possible is the freedom he has been afforded at Aston Villa. Teams looking for a traditional winger to hug the touchline and provide width should look elsewhere.

Rogers' best moments in a Villa shirt have come in a fluid role off the striker. The 23-year-old is free to roam across the fluid front four Unai Emery implements and thrives in the space this creates ahead of him.

When given the luxury of picking the avenues he wishes to pursue in game, the maverick-like moments of brilliance follow as a result.

Rogers is a unique blend of pace, power, technical ability and precision. Those are the traits capturing the attention of Europe's elite but one thing he is not is a cog in a system.

Villa have been down this road before with the sale of Jack Grealish to Manchester City for £100m. Another unique talent that set Villa Park alight.

Their latest star would likely command a similar figure and a similar trophy collection to Grealish would undoubtedly follow suit.

But Rogers' return for England, scoring once in 13 appearances, is an insight into what happens when he's confined to a more rigid system, tasking him with operating primarily down the right wing while working with Thomas Tuchel.

Given space and freedom, the rewards are obvious with Rogers. Limit that and you risk stifling one of the premium rising talents in world football.
